Technical Committee Meeting Convened to Formulate the National Mental Health Strategy for 2026-2030

The meeting was convened under the leadership of Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy Minister for Health Services at the Ministry of Public Health, and witnessed the active participation of central directors, alongside representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and various partner institutions.

His Excellency, the Deputy Minister emphasized that the formulation of the National Mental Health Strategy constitutes a significant and commendable milestone in the advancement of health services within the country’s healthcare sector. He remarked, “Today, we stand at the threshold of a new chapter, endeavouring to devise and implement this strategy with the aim of delivering enhanced mental health services to those in need throughout the nation.”

Moreover, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani assured all participants of the unwavering support from the Ministry of Public Health’s leadership for the strategy’s development. He urged members of the technical committee to engage in close coordination, share their expert insights, and draw upon credible sources, practical experiences, and community realities to craft a document that is both robust and adaptable to societal needs.
