MoPH Conducts High-Level Review to Strengthen Performance and Healthcare Delivery Across Central Departments

KABUL – H.E. Mawlawi Noor jalal Jalali, Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan at his office met with Mr. Michael Lippi, the Head of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) for Afghanistan.

During the meeting, which was attended by the president and representatives of Médecins Sans Frontières for Afghanistan, discussions were held regarding the improvement of health centers and services provided by Médecins Sans Frontières in the country, capacity building of health workers, transparency in services, better coordination with the Ministry of Public Health, and the provision of effective and sustainable services.

The Minister of Public Health emphasized the necessity of increasing and expanding the foundation’s support to the health sector and requested further development of services in this area. He also stressed the importance of improving the capacity of health workers, the quality of services, and ensuring effectiveness and transparency of operational activities.

Mr. Michael Lippi, Head of Médecins Sans Frontières, also emphasized the further improvement of health services in Afghanistan and the expansion of this sector. He pledged to work towards enhancing service quality and greater coordination.

 

Additionally, Mr. Lippi underscored the continuation of services in the provinces of Herat, Kunduz, and Helmand, noting that these centers would continue their activities in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health.
