A delegation from the AFDA of the Ministry of Public Health met with officials from the Helmand Provincial Public Health Directorate and food safety personnel to discuss existing challenges, measures to combat smuggling and the distribution of unauthorized medicines, procedures for licensing food establishments, and the registration of food products.

The delegation also conducted monitoring and inspections at several pharmaceutical wholesale outlets, pharmacies, and cottonseed oil and flour manufacturing facilities. The delegation provided the relevant officials with guidance and recommendations on preventing the distribution of unauthorized medicines, promoting the use of domestically manufactured products, improving food quality, complying with hygiene standards, and obtaining the required operating licenses.
