During the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Abdulqahar Ahmadi, the Director of Baghlan Public Health, stated: "In coordination with the Aga Khan Foundation's financial support, this standard neonatal unit, fully equipped with the necessary medical tools, is now operational at the Central Baghlan Hospital. It will provide treatment for newborns from across the province."

He further added that, with the Aga Khan Foundation's support, a surgical unit has also been fully established at the 35-bed hospital in Nahrain district. This unit, equipped with essential medical tools, will address the health issues of many patients.
