Ministry of Public Health Signs Contract to Support Maternal Healthcare Services in Logar Province

The Ministry of Public Health has signed a $296,054 contract with the Afghan Midwives Association (AMA) to enhance and expand healthcare services for the people of Logar Province.

The one-year contract was signed to improve the quality of healthcare services, expand access to care, and address the health needs of the community. Under the agreement, the Midwife-Led Maternal Health Center at Naib Aminullah Khan Hospital in Logar will continue providing essential maternal health services, while creating employment opportunities for 50 healthcare workers and support staff.

Representatives of the AMA expressed their commitment to implementing the project in accordance with all agreed standards throughout the one-year period and ensuring that the healthcare needs of the local community are effectively addressed.
