The event was inaugurated by Honorable Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy Minister of Health Services of the Ministry of Public Health, and saw the attendance of several ministry directors, heads of various central hospitals, representatives from the World Health Organization, and healthcare workers.

In his address, the Deputy Minister of Health Services underscored the importance of cleanliness as an integral aspect of faith, emphasizing that handwashing with soap is crucial for controlling and preventing communicable diseases.

He highlighted the Islamic, economic, and medical benefits of maintaining hygiene, particularly hand hygiene, and stressed the necessity of prioritizing this practice.

Dr. Ahmad Seer Pasoon, Director of Therapeutic Medicine of the Ministry of Public Health, also spoke at the event. He noted that hands play a pivotal role in the transmission of diseases, including infectious and COVID-19 illnesses, from an infected individual to a healthy one. He emphasized that paying attention to cleanliness is vital for preventing disease spread. Dr. Pasoon added that proper hand hygiene can significantly reduce the incidence and mortality rates associated with various infectious diseases.
