Deputy Minister of Food and Drugs Meets with Provincial Quality Control Laboratory Heads
Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, Deputy Minister of Food and Drugs of the MoPH, met with the heads of provincial food and drug quality control laboratories at his office to discuss their work status, challenges, needs, and ways to strengthen laboratory activities.
The provincial laboratory heads shared their challenges, concerns, and recommendations, calling for greater attention to the development of laboratory equipment and technical resources, as well as capacity building programs.
After hearing their views and concerns, the Deputy Minister emphasized the critical role of quality control laboratories in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of medicines, food products, and health products. He also highlighted the AFDA’s plans to establish and further equip laboratories, particularly in customs provinces.
He further assured the participants that the challenges and needs of provincial laboratories would be reviewed and that necessary measures would be taken to address them.
At the end of the meeting, Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid once again underscored the important role of laboratories in the quality control system and called on officials to carry out their professional duties with accuracy, integrity, and full accountability to help ensure the provision of quality services and better protection of public health.
