MoPH Deputy Minister Meets Pharmaceutical Importers to Address Medicine Supply and Pricing

Deputy Minister for Food and Drugs of the MoPH Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, with his technical team, met officials and members of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Importers’ Union.

The leadership of the Deputy Minister's Office for Food and Drugs heard participants’ issues, opinions, and suggestions, and assured that necessary measures would be taken to thoroughly assess and address the raised concerns.

Traders were also asked to promptly make agreements with new and reputable companies in neighboring and regional countries that offer high-quality products at reasonable prices, and to import the country’s essential medicines, so that the domestic market does not face shortages in the future.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that legal action will be taken against companies or individuals who hoard medicines or illegally inflate prices through various pretexts.

The Ministry of Public Health, especially the Deputy Minister's Office for Food and Drugs, maintains regular contact with pharmaceutical traders to meet medicine needs and promptly address their issues.
