Abu Ali Sina Hospital in Balkh Performs Over 43,000 Free Surgeries in One Year

The Ministry of Public Health has announced that a total of 43,776 free surgical operations were carried out over the past year at Abu Ali Sina Regional Teaching Hospital in Balkh province.
Out of these procedures, 10,367 were major surgeries and 33,409 were minor, all of which were successfully performed by experienced and highly qualified Afghan medical professionals — at no cost to the patients. These operations were pulled off with precision, reflecting the dedication and skill of the national healthcare workforce.
In addition to surgical services, the hospital also rolled out a wide range of free health services, including:
• Outpatient care (OPD) for 486,283 patients
• Inpatient care (IPD) for 83,422 patients
• Laboratory tests for 122,310 individuals
• Electrocardiograms (ECGs) for 47,282 patients
• Ultrasound services for 58,558 individuals
• X-ray services for 67,376 patients
