Considering the differential signs of the dead bodies and applying the principles of forensic medicine, the Ad Hoc Commission through its joint efforts in regard to the issue will present its thorough working report to the president office.
From the beginning of the assignment of the commission to date, holding five general meetings and five site visits, and examining the differential signs of the skeletons of the dead bodies, the teeth, clothes, height, bullet shot sites in the bodies and taking the information provided by the relatives as a guide for the identification of the deceased bodies, the committee was able to identify indisputably 9 bodies. Dr. Faizullah Kakar the Deputy Minister for the Technical Affairs of the Ministry of Public Health and the Chairman of the Ad Hoc Commission remarked that Among 29 deceased bodies found in two mass graves, out of 18 family members of late President only 9 were identified and overall efforts are under process to identify the remaining 9 bodies of the family including that of late Sardar Mohammad Daud Khan.
In case of moot identification of the deceased body of late President, need may rise for the Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid (D.N.A) testing, in such circumstances the committee plans to perform the test with the financial and technical help of different agencies and sources, to analyze the deceased bodies the soonest possible and through a dignified and full of honor governmental ceremony and to pay the last tributes to the aforementioned martyrs.
The committee reckons this undertaking as a great achievement for all Afghans and invites compatriots living in or outside Afghanistan to assist the commission with the exact and accurate information they have about the martyrdom event and the site of burial of President, family members and aides.
