Towards Fair Health Services Delivery |
Dr Suraya Dalil, Policy & Planning Deputy and MoPH Acting Minister inaugurated a 30- bed hospital named Haji Janat Gul Khan Kochi in the Puli-Charkhi area of Kabul city today.
While the Acting Minister of Public Health was inaugurating the ceremony, a large number of people including representatives of Kochi tribes including some Parliament members, MoPH staff, representative of the Independent Department of Kochies and some other Kochi leaders attended the ceremony.
Speaking to the audience, Dr Suraya Dalil indicated the inauguration day as a Happy Day and congratulated the residents, in particular, the Kochi tribes on this prosperous achievement. She also added that The Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health has made perpetual efforts to present equitable health services to the whole Afghan nation without any forms of discrimination.
The Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan has planned to further support Kochi tribes via training health workers, especially nurses and midwives to build capacities among Kochies, establishing and upgrading health clinics, strengthening referral system along the pathways of the Kochies and designing a specific program of health and Nutrition services for Kochi tribes. Said Dr Suraya Dalil, Acting Minister of Public Health.
Thereafter, while speaking to the participants, Mullah Tarakhil, Member of Parliament for Kochies and head of commission of Kochies of the Wolesi Jerga of the parliament, refugees and immigrants, expressed his gratitude to the support provided by MoPH leadership. It is a great pleasure that because of the practical consideration of The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the intensified non-stop attempts made by the Ministry of Public Health, Kochi tribes who had not been able to take advantage of health services throughout the history are now very lucky to be supported by establishment of this 30 bed well equipped hospital. Said Mullah Tarakhil the Member of Parliament for Kochies.
While appreciating the Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health leadership, the mentioned parliament member solicited for construction of the appended part of the hospital as well as upgrading the CHC (Comprehensive Health Center) from 30 to a 75 bed hospital.
Moreover, the representative of Independent department of Kochies and some other leaders of Kochi tribes each had their speeches respectively and all of them praised the Afghan Ministry of Public Health for its collaboration.
It is to be noticed that the land deserved by the above mentioned hospital had been granted by Haji Janat Gul Khan, a known Kochi leader. The construction work of the hospital was initiated in April 2009 by US Military Forces. The cost dedicated to construction was around 230 thousand US Dollars. This one story building for the hospital got constructed by Zhwaakmand Nabizai Construction Company on a land with a measurement of 4000 square meters.
The hospital will satisfy the needs for health services of more than 120 thousand Kochies.
